The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), established in 1906, is a government agency in the USA which determines which foods and beverages (with some exceptions, such as alcohol), substances, medications, medical devices, cosmetics, etc are safe for human or animal (such as pet or farm animal medications and foods) use or consumption.
